Kolkata Knight Riders captain Brendon McCullum said the sequence of defeats that his team had faced was frustrating and that the team management had sent some strong messages in the dressing room about the need to stick together and for someone to step up to swing the momentum back.
On another frustrating loss: It's frustrating. That's the word we have been using for the last week and a half. We were blown off the park at the top of the order by Sachin [Tendulkar] and Sanath [Jayasuriya]. And unfortunately weren't able to respond with the bat. We did a good job in the second half with the fielding but the way we batted was incredibly frustrating. Until such time as we try and put up a better performance we can't really expect to win. So we have just had some pretty strong messages in the change room. We have talked about the need to stick together and need for someone to step up and respond to be able to swing the momentum back our way. And if we can get a win in the next game then who knows where we can progress in the tournament. But certainly by no means do we feel that we are out of this tournament yet.
On the middle-order struggling if the top-order collapses: We need to get those guys playing from front of the game. At the moment, we are constantly playing from a position of weakness rather than a position of strength. If we can manage to put them in a better situations, when they do have to come to the wicket, I am sure you will see some far better performances from what you have seen so far in the tournament from them.
